West Kelowna is a small city situated on the west side of Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. In order to appreciate what makes this real estate market special, analyzing this location from A to Z is a must. The district is a local government in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Formerly known as Westside District Municipality, the name was changed to West Kelowna in January 2009.
Currently, West Kelowna and surrounding area (including Peachland) has a diverse population approaching 50,000 citizens. West Kelowna is the second largest municipality in the Regional District of Central Okanagan. It is expected that West Kelowna will continue to grow in terms of population. Although there are no post-secondary schools in West Kelowna, there are two major public institutions in nearby Kelowna, UBC Okanagan and Okanagan College.
